Japan Experience 6 Nights
The Japan Experience tour will take you to see many traditions unique to Japanese culture. Experience first-hand the intricacies of the tea ceremony, traditional calligraphy, and sumo training found only in Japan. Day 1
City: Arrival in Tokyo
Event: Arrive at Narita/Haneda Airport
Following your arrival to Japan and transfer to the hotel, enjoy the rest of the day free to rejuvenate yourself from the long flight.

Day 2
City: Tokyo
Event: Tour of Tokyo
For your first look into Japanese culture, we begin the tour with a visit to the sumo stables to watch sumo training. While the actual sumo season is quite short, with only six tournaments during the year, sumo wrestlers train year round. Then, we will venture to the Edo-Tokyo Museum*, Asakusa Kannon Temple, and Nakamise Shopping Arcade. One of Tokyo’s most popular temples, Asakusa Kannon Temple is also the oldest temple in Tokyo. Finally, to end the day’s tour, we will be taking a cruise on the Sumida River.
*Note: the Edo-Tokyo Museum is closed for renovations from April 1, 2022 through 2025 (tentative schedule)

Day 3
City: Tokyo – Kyoto
Event: Tour of Kyoto
Starting the day off early, we will be taking a trip down to the Tsukiji Fish Market to witness the day’s tuna auction. After that, we say goodbye to Tokyo and ride the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Kyoto. Following the two hour ride, we will then visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Nishijin Textile Center where we will witness a kimono fashion show and experience the traditional Japanese tea ceremony.

Day 4
City: Kyoto
Event: Tour of Kyoto
Day 4 of the Japan Experience tour features a Zen meditation experience. We will be visiting Fushimi Inari Taisha, made famous by the thousands of vermilion torii gates. After that, look forward to a sake tasting experience at the Fushimi sake brewery and riding the Jukkokusen boat cruise.

Day 5
City: Kyoto – Nara – Osaka
Event: Transfer to Osaka via Nara
During the day, we will be leaving Kyoto for Nara and ending the day in Osaka. Try your hand at making nigirizumi (Japanese inksticks) and Japanese calligraphy. Then in Nara, we will visit Todai-ji Temple with its famous Great Buddha Statue, Nara Park, and Nara old town. Considered the messengers of the gods, the deer at Nara Park have become a symbol of the city.

Day 6
City: Osaka
Event: Tour of Osaka
Following breakfast at the hotel, we begin our day by visiting Abeno Harukas, the tallest skyscraper in Japan, and Osaka Castle. After that, have a go at making takoyaki (octopus balls) and create your own instant noodles at the CUPNOODLES Museum.

Day 7
City: Departure from Osaka
Event: Transfer to Kansai International Airport
